2.

Student assessment

We look into your child’s needs and create a customised timetable that not only aligns with your goals but also meets government requirements.
3.

Regular check-ins

We provide ongoing support with regular check-ins and half-termly meetings with parents to track progress and adjust as needed.

Alex’s story

Alex was struggling at school when we first met him. He had moved from Switzerland to England at the beginning of the GCSE cycle, which led to difficulties with the change in school systems and significant knowledge gaps between his new and old schools.
Our team was brought on board as homeschool tutors during the Easter and summer terms to address the challenges he was facing. We focused on teaching any areas he had not yet learned, improving his exam technique, overcoming language barriers, and covering any subjects he was struggling with. We placed a particular emphasis on exam techniques, as this was one of the hardest transitions for him at the new school.
Despite having a predicted outcome of 2 Bs, 4 Cs, and 2 Ds at GCSE, Alex achieved 3 As and 5 Bs, demonstrating a significant improvement in his academic performance.

orange arrow dowm

Our homeschooling programs are designed to address the unique needs and interests of each child. Homeschooling sessions are scheduled to fit with the families lifestyle, with a suggested duration of 3-4 hours per day.

What curriculum do you use, and how flexible is it to adapt to my child's needs?

orange arrow dowm

We do not adhere to a single conventional curriculum, instead we design a program that is uniquely customised to your child. Whether you choose a curriculum that aligns with UK national standards or something more personalised, we can tailor our lessons to ensure that your child obtains a complete and positive education.

What resources and support do you provide for parents to assist with homeschooling?

orange arrow dowm

To assist parents, we provide a number of materials and continued support. This includes frequent updates on your child's development, access to educational materials, and advice on how to best assist their learning at home.

How does homeschooling work in the UK?

orange arrow dowm

Homeschooling in the UK works by making education a legal responsibility of the parent. There is no requirement to follow the National Curriculum, which allows parents to plan a personalised curriculum based on their child’s individual needs, pace, and interests. However, parents should make sure that homeschooling is efficient and suitable for their child’s age, academic level, and future goals.

Is homeschooling legal in the UK?

orange arrow dowm

Yes, homeschooling is legal in the UK under Section 7 of the Education Act 1996, which states parents are responsible for their child’s education suitable to their age, ability, and aptitude. This gives families the freedom to choose a personalised learning route. If your child is already enrolled in a school, you must formally notify the school in writing before withdrawing them.

What are the benefits of homeschooling?

orange arrow dowm

The main benefit of homeschooling is a personalised education approach that focuses on your child’s individual strengths, learning style, and academic goals. Secondly, it eliminates scheduling and commuting hassles for a consistent, flexible learning routine. Finally, homeschooling is highly supportive for students facing school-related challenges or those with special educational needs (SEN), as it offers a calm, focused environment in which they can progress at a comfortable pace.

How do I start homeschooling my child?

orange arrow dowm

You can start homeschooling your child by deregistering your child from school and taking full responsibility for providing a full-time, suitable education. While you can plan your child’s curriculum, study plans, and effective routines by yourself, HRB Education offers a credible alternative. We offer homeschooling programs that help with school challenges, provide maximum flexibility, and overcome learning difficulties. Our personalised curricula combine academic lessons, creative activities, and sports opportunities for a balanced and engaging educational experience.

How many hours a day should I spend homeschooling?

orange arrow dowm

The law in the UK does not specify the number of hours for homeschooling because the focus is on the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the learning. HRB Education recommends 3-4 hours of daily sessions with a tutor or parent. For comprehensive academic learning, we recommend implementing our self-study approaches, reading materials, and extracurricular activities.

Do you provide online homeschooling programs in the UK?

orange arrow dowm

Yes. HRB Education offers online homeschooling programs across the UK. Parents receive educational resources, continuous assistance, regular updates on their child's progress, and advice for successful home learning. Each programme is customised to match the child’s academic needs and provide a fully efficient, positive learning experience.
